Trevor Norman

Trevor Norman--- Born in Burwood and educated at St Patrick's College Strathfield. It was here that he was first noticed as having talented vocal ability.

For two years running he was given the lead solo at Christmas Eve services at St Dominic's Flemington. as part of the church choir. He was also in the "100 Voice College Choir" and with his skilled harmonies was elevated to the college "Selected Voices". This was a six voice choir that participated in the Metropolitan Christian Brothers Catholic Colleges Eisteddfods. He was a soloist and duet competition winner.

While at school he commenced piano tuition which he continued after he left school. He added to this lessons in rhythm guitar and taught himself bass guitar. His urge to play rock n roll found him playing piano in his first band, "The Ramblers"

The early to mid 60's saw him perform with various bands including "The Cyclonics" and "Eli". These bands mainly performed at youth groups. His big chance came when he was offered the opportunity to travel to London as the bass player for Max Merritt. With no firm promises or guarantees he chose to decline the offer.

In 1968 Trevor got married and he put his music on the sidelines until the early 80's. He joined a trio called the" Ageing Unknowns". This group consisted of his lead guitarist from the 60's Daryl Hall and drummer Chris Gallaher who had tasted early success with the Mixtures.

Trevor found country music in early 1990. He was introduced to the country scene through the late Greg Parsons. Greg and his band "Country Shuffle" took him under their wing leading him on a journey that he is still travelling today.

In April of 1991 Greg introduced Trevor to "Midnight Riders". The rest as they say is history. He has performed continually since this time and can boast that he has never missed a single "Midnight Riders" performance.

Today Trevor is still performing with and promoting his be-loved " Midnight Riders"
